Abstract (EN)
The usage of the micro milling process that has an advance process precision is rising day by day in the world of industry. In this machining process, there are many parameters which have big effects on the quality and the properties of the final product. The main ones of these parameters are: grain orientation, feed per tooth, rotation value and the depth of cut. In this study, the effect of grain orientation and grain size on micro milling was investigated. In the study, samples obtained from AA5083 alloy were subjected to cold rolling process at three different rates (10%, 30% and 50%). After the rolling process, samples with different grain structures and different hardness values were obtained. Micro milling experiments were carried out considering the rolling direction and different cutting parameters. The obtained results showed that the micro hardness and cutting forces increased with increasing rolling rate. The increase in the rolling rate also causes a decrease in the burr width. It was determined that the rolling ratio greater than 10% did not have a positive effect on the surface roughness. The surface roughness values of the unrolled sample and the samples perpendicular to the rolling direction are similar.
