Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this thesis is to compare the Mergers and Acquisitions regimes applicable in Turkey, a candidate country for the European Union, and the European Union itself, and to identify the similarities and differences between them. One of the major achievements of Turkey's EU candidacy process is the alignment of its legal system with the European Union Competition Law acquis. The legal regulations implemented during Turkey's EU membership process have resulted in similarities between the Turkish and EU Mergers and Acquisitions regimes. However, there are still some significant differences. This study aims to highlight the differences between the Mergers and Acquisitions regimes in Turkey and the EU, and to provide a source survey. The differences between the legal frameworks regulating Mergers and Acquisitions in the EU and Turkey will be analyzed. In conclusion, this thesis is conducted with the aim of analyzing the legal differences in Mergers and Acquisitions activities between Turkey and the EU and assisting businesses and legal professionals in effectively managing Mergers and Acquisitions in both Turkey and the EU. The thesis consists of a total of two parts. In the first part, the fundamental concepts of Competition Law are discussed, and in the second part, a comparison of Mergers and Acquisitions in the EU and Turkish Competition Law has been conducted.
