Attitudes of doctors working in Abant Izzet Baysal University Health Center for Research and Practice on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation

This research was planned to evaluate the attitudes of doctors about cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).Universe of the research was constituted by 246 doctors working in Abant Izzet Baysal Unıversity Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi Health Center For Research and Practice. Sample of the study was composed of 234 doctors who were working in this hospital and accepted to participate in this research.Research datas were collected with questionnaire. Questionnaire was comprised of 30 questions including the demographic spesifications and the CPR knowledge of the doctors. Existing literature about the research were used to arrange questionnaire. Questionnaires were applied between 27.02.2012--04.06.Definitive stastistical methods, Mann Whitney U and Independest Samples "t" tests were used in evaluation of datas.It was determined that %90 of the participants were applied and/or watced CPR, %62 of participants were not attended to any CPR course. %64.1 of the participants have not noticed of the guide prepared every five year.Almost whole of the participants (%92.7) were know about the ?watch it-hear it-feel it?, which is the method for the controlling unconscious patient?s breathing.As a result, most doctors do not have sufficient knowledge of CPR was understood.Keywords: Doctor, Cardiac arrest, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
