Life and the literary personality of Abdulhakîm Kâsim and his novel named "Eyyâmu'l-İnsâni's-Seb'a"

Novel is one of the literary novelty brought by the "New Period" in Arabic Literature. As in almost every literary genre, the novel, which went through certain stages of maturation, showed different tendencies in different periods depending on the conditions of the period it was in or not. Reflecting human life most clearly, the novel has a important place in the field of literature with this property. Evolving into many forms due to its multiple structure, the novel is also a matter of identity that can show the literary and personal qualities of its author. In this study, the literary personality and the life of Abdulhâkim Kâsım who was unknown in Turkey, one of the writer of the generation known as "Sixties Generation" in Arabic world, was examined and his famous work "Eyyâmu'l-İnsâni's-Seb'a" was analysed. The study is the first in terms of understanding the author himself, his work and his writing style. The author, who wrote his works with the principles of his generation, generally dealt with social facts and subjects within the framework of different themes in his works. In the first part of the study, political, social and literary history of Egypt and Egyptian novelism in terms of modern era are discussed. In the second part, the author and his works were tried to be recognized and introduced in the light of the information about the author. In the third part, the novel is examined in terms of form and content. In the fourth part, the novel has been subjected to analysised by taking into account the works of competent names in the field of novel analysis and the approaches of different novel theorists and examined in terms of expression methods and wording properties.
