The review and evaluation of Abdülkâhir al-Bagdadi's work title Tefsiru'l-Esmâ ve Sifât

The issue of divine attributes in Islamic thought is an important problem that has been transferred from the past to the present by preserving its vitality. Many scholars have contributed to the field by writing works on this subject. One of them is Abulkahir al-Baghdadi, who is a member of the Ash'ari tradition. Baghdadi is one of the early representatives of the Ash'ari tradition in kalam. His views are an important reference source for those who want to know the Ash'ari school. Bagdâdî's book Tafsîru'l-esmâ vs- Sıfât, which he wrote about divine names and attributes, has reached the present day as a manuscript. In this thesis, we aimed to present the work in question to the benefit of the scientific world by examining it. Our study consists of introduction, conclusion and three parts. In the introduction, information about the subject, importance, purpose, method and scope of the research is given, and the relevant sources are introduced. In the first part; A literature study on the subject of nouns and adjectives was made and information was given about the field. In addition, the division of divine attributes and the subject of divine attributes in the science of kalam in general are discussed. In the second part; Abdülkâhir al-Baghdadi's life, scientific personality, criticisms directed at him, his work al-Esmâ ve's-Sıfât and the ratio of this work to its author, the importance of the work, the method followed in the work and Baghdadi's views on esma and adjective in general perspective were evaluated.
