Abstract (EN)
Objectives: The success of the PVI and VCI values of the patients intubated in the emergency department before the intubation to predict post-intubation hypotension. Materials and Methods: In the study, which was planned as a prospective, observational cohort study, four different HSE procedures were applied to patients who were intubated with HSE in the emergency room and connected to a Pressure Controlled Mechanical Ventilator. It was investigated whether PVI and VCI measured before intubation could predict PEH and other complications. Results: 79 patients were evaluated for suitability for the study. 63 patients were included in the study. PVI was able to be observed in 57 of 63 patients. 14 of them (27%) developed PEH. 1 patient (1.6%) was arrested during HSE. 42 of the patients (66.7%) died in the 3-month period after intubation. The median PVI before intubation value of 14 patients who developed PEH was 26mmHg, the median PVI value of 43 patients without PEH was 25mmHg (p = 0.88).According to PVI, 13 of 49 patients with fluid deficit developed PEH (p = 0.66). 26 patients (41.3%) had fluid deficit (P = 0.99) after VCI, which was examined ultrasonographically before intubation. There was no significant correlation between PVI and VCI collapse percentages (p = 0.79). The median PVI value before intubation was 28.5mmHg in 42 patients who died within 3 months in the study; The median PVI value of patients living was 21mmHg, and there was no significant difference between the two groups in this respect (p = 0.11). The median percentage of VCI collapse before intubation of 42 patients who died within 3 months in the study was 42.8; The median percentage of VCI collapse was 33.3, and no significant difference was observed between the two groups (p = 0.08). Conclusion: Although it is known to be significant in other studies, PVI and VCI values examined before intubation were not significant in predicting PEH.
