Özet (EN)
Open accsess publishing emerging as an altertanetive to conventional/commercial publishing has been derived and developed to remove some of the problems in scientific communication. Before Opern Acsess, excessive price increases in printed magazine publications have resulted in reduced subscriptions. Many Libraries are effected by this process and have had to give up many magazine subscription. This situation has led to great difficulties the libraries that have an important place in providing up-to-date information to their users in providing the necessary infomation. And so the libraries have turned to new quests. The so-called "golden road" and the "green road" have been devoleped to remove these problems. In this respect, it would not be wrong to consider open Access publishing as an attempt to seek a right against commercial publishing. It is thought that the vast majority of researchers have not sufficient information about the open accsess and its benefits, which are highly beneficial in scientific communication. For this reason, awareness among researchers needs to be established and incresed. Otherwise, the open accsess workshops organized every year, other related meetings and software created for the process of the system in academies, in short, all the efforts related to subject will not be able to reach its goal and the efforts will be wasted. In the study, it has examined the developmend of open access, types and features, benefits, open access guides, copy rights, open access policies, features of open accees and archives in Turkey, the importance of libraries in open access and Firat Univesity institutional open archives (KAA) Survey technique was used to determine the level of open access awareness of the teaching staff. Data compiled from different types of participant with respect to emotional characteristics were analyzed by SPSS software (Statistical PackagefortheSocialSciences) Teaching Staff's level of open access awareness is low in the Firat University. The hypothesis "Altough teaching staff of Firat University think that they have information about the open accees, they have not detailed knowledge about the subject" as a result of the study is confirmed. The teaching staff, in order to increase awarness of open acess, advised to carry out informative activities such as "Saminar should be given", "informative meeting must be held", "conferences and panels should be organized", "orientation work should be done on the subject", "in-service training must be given". The teaching Staff have not detailed information about open access. Despite that, they express that they are open to case and not in a prejudiced manner.
