Abstract (EN)

Solar energy systems are increasingly popular nowadays. However, the cost of solar energy systems is much higher when compared to the cost of conventional energy systems, and the efficiency of such systems is lower than other energy systems. It is possible to increase the yield on the field thanks to the solar energy systems' ability to follow the sun. There are many solar tracking systems in the literature. On the other hand, the widespread use of internet based systems provides the monitoring and automation of solar tracking systems more convenient and easy to follow. In the scope of this thesis study, firstly internet based solar tracking systems were searched and their performances were compared. In this stage, literature review and existing tracking systems and algorithms have been compiled. Subsequently, a prototype solar tracking system with a small scale internet base was implemented and parameters such as current and voltage were transferred to the central unit remotely controlled (internet based). However, the prototype can be accessed over the internet and intervened if necessary.
