Abstract (EN)
Nowadays, the use of three-dimensional printer technology and three-dimensional models in medicine and health is becoming increasingly common. Three dimensional models are created from radiological images using open source or commercial medical programs. Commercial programs often involve high costs and limited access. Therefore, in this thesis, it was aimed to evaluate the morphometry of three-dimensional radius bone models using four different open source medical programs. Computed tomography images of five dry human radius bones were used in the study. Three dimensional digital models were created from the images with four different open source medical programs (InVesalius, ITK-SNAP, Seg3D, 3D Slicer). The length measurements of the created models were calculated with the MeshLab program, and the volume measurements were calculated with the Mimics program. Measurements made with digital caliper for length measurements and Archimedes Principle for volume measurements were determined as the gold standard. Consistent with the gold standard was evaluated by comparing the volume and length differences between the models. When the mean volume and length measurements were compared with the gold standard, no statistically significant difference was found between the programs (p>0.05). When the consistent of medical programs with the gold standard is evaluated, it is determined that all programs are compatible with physical measurements in length measurements; In volume measurements, it was determined that 3D Slicer was the only program compatible with the Archimedes Principle. As a result, successful three dimensional radius models were created in all four programs. However, 3D Slicer, which creates models most similar to real bone, stood out among open source medical programs with both volume and length measurements.
