Evaluation of Arabic textbooks used in the Faculty of Open Education in terms of basic language skills

In learning a language, it is very important to be acquired basic language skills. Especially if this language has a different structure from Turkish such as the Arabic language it is of vital importance to acquire basic language skills. The fact that grammatical structure, sentence formation, and word derivation methods are different between Turkish and Arabic and that both languages belong to different linguistic families increase the importance of this even more. However, while grammar rules form the skeleton of a language, the basic language skills are worthy of the spirit vitalizing that language. Besides grammar, being the basis of foreign language teaching, listening, reading, writing and speaking skills, also known as comprehension and narrative skills, constitute the essence of basic language skills. In addition, it is extremely important to develop basic language skills in order to be understood the works regarding oral narrative and written expression of the Arabic language. In this study, we tried to examine and evaluate the Open Education Faculty Arabic Textbooks in terms of basic language skills. Additionally, we made an effort to be understood the subjects much better by giving enough examples while reviewing them. We hope that our study will contribute to overcoming the problems encountered in the Arabic Language learning to some extent.
