Acoustical analysis and evaluation of cultural centers at Gaziantep University

Gaziantep, one of the oldest cultural centers in the Southeastern Anatolia Region, is located on the historical Silk Road. The main objective of this thesis is the analysis of current acoustical performance of Gaziantep University Auditorium and Atatürk Cultural Center which are the most important centers of these cultural activities to carry out. Despite the fact that both salons are used as multipurpose halls, there are no variable panels (or any acoustic solution) in volume. In this context, the assessments were made on the basis of subjective and subjective parameters based on room acoustics. The measurements of the obtained acoustic parameters were compared with the results obtained in the ODEON acoustic analysis program for accuracy. The results were analyzed on the basis of the room acoustic criterion of multipurpose halls, and some suggestions were made to improve the acoustical performance of both halls.
