Abstract (EN)
In recent years, room acoustics, one of the subcomponents of acoustics, has received great attention among researchers for its ability to specify good hearing conditions for each audience and to ensure high speech intelligibility and clear perception of music and its components in cultural or art centers and auditoriums. Therefore, acoustical conditions should be taken into account to prevent corresponding acoustical defects. The main objective of this thesis is to perform a general evaluation of the acoustical performance of some selected major culture and art centers in Gaziantep using objective parameters such as RT, EDT, BR, TR, Ts, C80, D50, STI, and Background Noise values. The selected centers are the Şehitkamil Culture Center, Şehitkamil Art Center, and Şehitkamil Wedding Hall. The objective acoustical performance of the audience area in culture and art centers depends on the measured parameter obtained by sound level meter or computer programs. The selected culture and art centers will be simulated and analyzed using the ODEON room acoustics software.
