Abstract (EN)

Structural criticism believes that literature has its own system and there are rules which organize it. In this master thesis, thirty eight stories from the story books named "Yüksek Gerilim" (High Voltage), "Sessizliğin İlk Sesi" (First Voice of the Silence), "Hadi Gidelim" (Let's go) and "Hayatı Savunma Biçimleri" (Life Defense Style ) written by Adalet Ağaoğlu were studied using the structuralist theory. After a short summary, the stories were divided into basis cross-sections keeping an eye on the actional changes. On the basis of A. Greimass's thoughts, the actors in cross-sections were schemed from the protagonist's perspective. In this way, the actors' relations between each other and their functions in narration were evaluated; the deep structure of the text was exposed. In addition, with an emphasis on the spatial and temporal structure of the narrative, the functions of time and space in the narrative were explained. General view was evaluated in the conclusion section. In addition, this work wants to get a new view to Adalet Ağaoğlu's stories. The examination aims at making a contribution to the insufficient studies in structural fields. Keywords: Adalet Ağaoğlu, Structuralism, Sectionalization, Actants
