Agricultural policies of Justice Party 1961-1980)

Abstract Agriculture, which started with human history and became an economic activity over time, has an important place in the economic policies of many countries. In the period since its establishment until today Turkey is shown as an example for this. %80 of the population were depending on that field for living and work life. Hence to develop this sector in fact brouht a good living fer the most population. Therefore it was a rational policy for that time, development should be started from the agriculture field. The growing population, meeting the needs, overcoming hunger problems could only be achieved with appropriate agricultural policies. In this study, agriculture policies applied during the period of Justice Party, which operates between 1961 and 1980, were discussed. In the study, the general framework of agriculture and the relation between state and agriculture were given first; after that, the Republic of Turkey's institutions until 27 May 1960 Rebellion process has been made a general assessment on the agricultural sector. Then, when the Justice Party continued its political life, the agricultural policies applied by the planned development strategy were considered and the contributions of these policies to agriculture and economic growth were evaluated. Also, from Turkey's establishment until tuday, the constant subject of discussion the Land Reform applications are also discussed. With the decline of the Justice Party, the political, military and economic events that led to this process were evaluated.
