Cashmere production, fineness, skin thickness, coarse and down hair color are analiysed and effect of sex, age, litter size and liveweight were evaluated.Down hair was collected in April, May, June and July by the steel comb. Meandistrict hair fineness was found 14.3µ, mean lowest fineness was found 13.8µ, inUniversity Farm, which is low from the sea level. The lowest fineness 14.1µ wasfound in Karaisalı which is very high from the sea level and the most thick fiber wasfound 15µ in Tufanbeyli district where is 1400 m high from the sea level.Key Words : Cashmere, down hair, physical characteristics.II
