Abstract (EN)
Sunflower is an important oil plant that can be grown in every region in Turkey. It contains high (40-50%) quality oil in its grains and ranks first in terms of cultivation area, production amount and oil production. Sunflower downy mildew, the causative agent of which is Plasmopara halstedii (Farl.) Berl. & de Toni is the most important disease of sunflower and causes significant yield losses. In recent studies, it has been determined that there are 50 different races of the pathogen. This study aimed to determine races of Plasmopara halstedii in infected sunflower fields of Adana province. Sunflower fields were surveyed since from plant emergence in 4 different districts of Adana province (Ceyhan, İmamoğlu, Karaisalı and Sarıçam) and 20 different isolates of the pathogen were obtained from sunflower plants showing mildew symptom. In the study, the races of Plasmopara halstedii were identified as 720, 730 and 770 in Ceyhan, 715 and 750 in İmamoğlu, 715 in Karaisalı, and 770 and 773 in Sarıçam using the international differential set. Partial gen sequences of ITS and large subunit of r-RNA were amplified and phylogenetic tree of these sequences was performed by MegaX.
