Özet (EN)
Smoking addiction is a multi-faceted problem with social, psychological, medical and economic aspects. There are 1.1 billion tobacco users in the world and 85% of tobacco users are cigarette users. In order to deal with tobacco use, therapeutic methods as well as the fight against supply and demand use global policy tools. In this descriptive and cross-sectional study, "Sociodemographic Data Collection Form", "Fagerström Test for Nicotine Dependence (FTND)" and Brief Smoking Consequences Questionnaire – Adult (BSCQ-A) were applied to learn socio-demographic data, tobacco addiction levels and tobacco expectations of individuals who applied to the Dr. Ekrem Tok Mental Health and Diseases Hospital Smoking Cessation Clinic. According to the results of the research, the FTND score average and standard deviation 4.68±2.018 of the individuals who applied to the Smoking Cessation Clinic were found. According to gender (p=0.280), age (p=0.192) and educational status (p=0.417), there was no significant difference between FNBT mean scores (p>0.05). Total score average and standard deviation of the Expectations from Smoking Scale of individuals who applied to the Smoking Cessation Outpatient Clinic were found to be 5.36±1.30. According to the Results of the Expectations from Smoking Scale (BSCQ-A), no significant difference was found between the mean scores of the SDI scale according to the variables of gender (p=0.280), age (p=0.192) and educational status (p=0.417) of individuals who applied to the smoking cessation clinic (p> 0.05). When the correlative relationship between FTND and BSCQ-A and its subscales was evaluated, only a positive and weakly significant relationship was found between the appetite / weight control subscale and FTND (p>0.05). Considering the complex effect of cigarette addiction on individuals, BSCQ-A should be applied in Smoking Cessation Polyclinics.
