A study on how the educators working in the provincial center of Adana have been influenced by the COVID-19 process

Introduction: The Covid-19 epidemic began in December 2019 and is still going now. One of the sectors impacted is education. The goal of our study is to assess the levels of psychological and physical pandemic influence among Adana's primary, secondary, and higher education faculty members. Materials and Methods: It is a cross -sectional study. In the four central districts of Adana (Sarıçam, Seyhan, Yüreğir, Çukurova), it was built in the form of face -to -face survey in primary, secondary and higher education. The questionnaire form consists of brief symptom inventory and international physical activity questionnaire with sociodemographic form. Educators evaluated BSI and GPAQ scales as before and during pandemic. The change in pandemi before and in the period of pandemi was examined. Findings: It was determined that the average age of the educators participating in our study was 43.8 ± 8.3, 55.1 %were women and 28.4 % were diagnosed with COVİD-19. 29.3 % of the participants were classroom teachers, 62.9 % were branch teachers and 7.8 % were faculty members and officials. It was found that there was an increase in the period of pandemia in the symptoms of all sub -dimensions of BSI. It was found that psychological influence in women is more than men. Somatization in those who think that the health of pandemic adversely affects, interpersonal sensitivity in educators over the age of 40, psychotism in educators under the age of 40, depression in educators diagnosed with COVİD-19, psychotism in over 20 hours a week online education, positive symptom total in branch teachers, paranoid thought and discomfort severity index in who have a shortage of communication with students/parents of more symptoms have been seen in educators. The risk of increase in general symptoms was found to be 2.1 times more in who think that their health is negatively affected, 3 times more in branch teachers. The level of physical activity decreased significantly during pandemi, while the seating time increased significantly. Conclusion: In our study, it was determined that psychological and physical health of the educators was affected by the pandemic. Being a woman, being a branch teacher and high course burden have been determined as a risk factor. We recommend making arrangements for risk groups and risk factors.
