These types of information are important to determine the priority of the precautions of help and the treatment. In our study, it is aimed to find the number of the defective people in Havutlu, to find the reasons of these disablements, to determine if these disablements are natural born or earned, to find out if they are taking rehabilitation or not and to be reference for the future works about disablement.Material, MethodThis study is a descriptive research that aims to determine the frequency, type and epidemiological properties of the disablement in the Havutlu Family Health Center region. The people living around Havutlu Family Health Center region are the target group of this study. The population is 3926 people according to the 2008 June records of the Home Society Determination Group (ETF). The sample size is calculated as 708 with %95 reliability and %2 error margins. These 708 people are chosen randomly from the records of ETF. The research data is evaluated in computer environment by using SPSS 11.5 package program.ResultsThe women constitute the %54,5 of the participants and the men are the %45,5 of them. It is determined that the %23,3 of the participants are defective. It is observed that the rate of the disablement is more in non-educated group (x2=116,4, SD=5, p<0,0001). The most common defect types are successively; visceral disablement (%51,6), skeleton system disablement (%16,9), physiological disablement (%8,7), eye and visual disablement (%7,9), hearing disablement (%5,1), language and speech disablement (%4,7), intellectual disablement (%3,1) and appearance disablement. From visceral disablement, successively; hypertension (%42,7), diabetes (%29) and cardiovascular system disablement are the first three disablement types.
