Floristic characteristics of plants species growing in the park and street edges in Adana city

Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to determine the flora of the parks and avenue edges in Adana city in years 2008-2010.According to the conclusions of the research, 337 taxa which belong to 93 families and 259 genera was established at the studied area. The most crowded 3 family according to their taxa numbers are Asteraceae 35 (10%) taxa, Fabaceae 30 (9%) taxa, Poaceae 20 (6%) taxa.Therophytes 121 (36%) and Phanerophytes 122 (36%) are more than the others (Chamaephytes, Hemicryptophytes, Geophytes). 162 (48%) of total flora in the area is exotic species. The majority of exotic species are poisonous (97 taxa, 59%).
