Analyse of the evolution of Adana Tepebağ tumulus and its environment in historical continum and bringing this region to nowadays

The province of Adana which hosted many civilizations during the history has initiallyfounded near environs of the tumulus of Tepebağ and has developped in this region.The changes in the region has begun by reason of the increase of the immigration from ruralareas to the city which has started with the declaration of the Republic. The incorrectstructuring in the region just after the abondonment of the region by the native settlers and thesettlement of the region by low incomed people, caused the historical buildings to look poorand older easily.The tumulus of Tepebağ and its environs has to be restudied to make it a place to live. Thisstudy should include at the same time the regulation of the physical environment, therestoration of the historical buildings; the protection and the sustainability of the historicaltexture in this historical buildings by providing them a role and should include also theimprovement of the social structure.In the first part of this study, an introduction to the research is made.In the second part, information about Adana province are deeply explained.In the third part, the presentation of the tumulus of Tepebağ and its environs is made.In the fourth part, results of two kind of interviews which are made in the tumulus of Tepebağand its evirons, are presented.In the fifth part, the social and physical situation of the region is explained with personalobservations.Key Words: Adana, Taşköprü, tumulus of Tepebağ, Physical Structure, Urban Structure,Architectural Structure, Social Structure, Collapsing, Change, Development
