According to the results obtained in this study, it was observedthat the powdery mildew species were generally host specific.In the Cukurova Region, it was determined that some powdery mildewspecies such as Blumeria graminis (DC.) Speer, Erysiphe communis (Wallr) Link.,Erysiphe polygoni DC., Erysiphe convolvuli DC. Erysiphe cichoracearum DC. em.Salm., and Phyllactinia suffulta (Rebent.) Sacc. have cleistothecia.In the other hand, It was observed that some powdery mildew fungi such asPodosphaera (Sphaerotheca) pannosa Lev., Podosphaera leucotricha (Ellis et Everh)Salm., Podosphaera tridactyla, Erysiphe (Uncinula) necator (Schwein.) Burr.,Leveillula taurica (Lev.) Arn. don?t produce any cleistothecia due to inadequateregional climatic conditions for fructification.Key Words: Erysiphales, powdery mildew, host, cleistothecium, Çukurova Region.II
