Abstract (EN)

Key Words: Sludge, Sludge Treatment Processes, Cost Analysis The purpose of this study is to specify the method of disposal of Adapazarı Karaman wastewater treatment plant, to introduce the sludge treatment processes which are applied all over the world at present and ensuring the better understanding of the sludge treatment system by means of sampling with the countries and producing some data which could be useful in the comparisons of various alternatives in terms of cost. Storing the sludge to the allocated areas is considered as a solution which can be implemented in the short period. The sludge should be stabilized according to the Solid Wastes Control Regulations to be stored into the left region, stone, sand and mine quarries. Thus, production of insects and flies etc is also prevented both during and after carrying and storing the sludge. Four alternatives have been evaluated in the study of removing Adapazarı Karaman wastewater treatment plant sludge. The direct regular storage of the treatment sludge in most of the European Union countries is not considered appropriate in terms of their respective regulations. Taking into consideration the European Union accession process and regulations, it is concluded that the most appropriate method as the method of removing Adapazarı Karaman wastewater treatment plant sludge is firstly drying and burning the sludge (4 alternatives) and then sending the ashes to the regular storage with ensured exproof features as a more proper solution.
