Some irregularities such as soft story, weakstory and short column are the main reasons for collapsed or heavly damagedbuildings subjected to earthquake. Soil-structure models are formed with thesimulations of buildings, that have those irregularities and the effects of soilcharacteristics on the failure of buildings has been investigated. For this purpose, time history analysis of the soil-structure models are carried out byusing the finite element method. The response of 9 types of reinforced concretestructures, which have the same characteristics, are investigated at 5 different soilconditions. The effect of ground water was also included in the study.Building performances, as a result of dynamic analysis, were presented as graphs andthe results were discussed. Displacement of time histories for top story and groundstory respect to base levels were presented as graphs to obtain more sophisticatedbuilding performance.xii
