Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of core stabilization exercises on dribbling speed and shooting and layup percentage in adolescent basketball players. This work; It will be held with the participation of a total of 40 male healthy and volunteer athletes from Elazığ Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate Basketball Club, aged between 15-18 and who have been playing basketball for at least three years. Athletes who will participate in the research will be divided into experimental and control groups with a simple randomization method. All athletes participating in the study will apply a predetermined routine basketball training program for 90 minutes, 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) for 6 weeks. In addition to the routine basketball training program, a core stabilization exercise program will be applied to the experimental group athletes, designed to be 11-15 minutes, 3 days a week for 6 weeks. For the control group, only the standard basketball training program will be applied. In all athletes; Tests including physical characteristics (age, basketball age, height, body weight) and basketball performance characteristics (high dribbling, shooting, layup) will be applied as pretest and posttest. Statistical analysis of the data obtained will be carried out with paired t-test in dependent groups and t-test in independent groups to determine the development differences before and after training according to the normality test in the statistical package program, at a significance level of 0.05.
