In this study, we purposed toexamine effects of physical activity level on physical wellness in Turkish adolescence.In the present study, 20 active volleyball player aged between 9-14 years (10 girl and10 boy) and 20 sedentary subjects (10 girl and 10 boy) were used. Fat mass was measuredusing a skin fold calliper; perimeter a measurement was made using Gullick band anddiameter measurements was made using anthropometric set.Fat mass, fat mass percent and fat free mass in active group were found to be lowercompared to sedentary group, but flexibility level was higher. The measurement of fat underthe skin (suprailiac, biceps, triceps) in active girl is found to be lower than sedentary girl.Abdominal, subscapula and calf skinfold values were statistically important (p<0.01). Thethigh value in the active girl was markedly higher than sedanter girls (p<0.001). Comparisonsections of the fat level under the skin in active boy and sedanters shows difference on thevalues of suprailiac skinfold abdominal skinfold, triceps skinfold, biceps skinfold, subskapulaskinfold, calf skinfold (p<0.01, p<0.001).SPSS (12.0 Version) was used for statistical analyses. All values are estimated inmean average and standard deviation and an independent samples t-test was used to analysevalues between groups.Measurement of perimeter and diameter; on men biceps ekstansiyon, biceps fleksiyonand except around the calf was higher in both sportsmen and sportswomen (p<0.05, p<0.01,p<0.001).Consequently; boys and girls in age between 9-14, who playing volleyball, havesimilar anthropometric characteristic and physical presence but non-active children have onlygood physical presence related to growth by their age.Key Words: Adolescence, Exercise, Body Composition
