Evaluation of pregnant adolescents in terms of obstetric results for mother and newborn

Abstract (EN)
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the sociodemographic characteristics, obstetric characteristics, birth results for mother and baby of adolescent pregnant women who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey and foreign nationals. Material Method: Research was applied to adolescent (14-19 years) pregnants who are citizen of Rebuplic of Turkey (T.C) and foreign national pregnants and who applied to Gaziantep Deniz Gökçek Woman Birth and Child Hospital between the dates of 15.10.2020 and 15.03.2021 for birth and accepted the research. Women who accepted the participating the research are applied data collection form which was formed by using Pregnant Introductory Information Form. Sample of the research is calculated in the power analysis and G*power 3.1 program. In the study, the sample study was completed in groups with a significance level of %5 and and effect size of 0.456. Face to face meeting method is used in the answering of definitive questions. Number, percentage, average, standart deviation, chi-square analysis, t-test statistical methods are used in the evaluation of the datas. Results: Adolescent pregnants's education circumstances and nationality circumstances were confronted by regarding research findings and it was determined that pointedly pregnant women who are ciziten of T.C. had higher education level than pregnants who are foreign national (p<0.05). When adolescent women's first menstruation age was investigated it was seen that %40 of mothers who are citizen of T.C. are 12 and under 12 ages, %29.5 of mothers are 13-14 years, %30.5 of them are 15 vi and above the 15 years; %11.4 of mothers who are foreign national are 12 and under the 12 years, %63.8 of them are 13-14 years, %24.8 are 15 and above the 15 years. According to the obstetric features there was an essential statistical differences in first menstruation age, marriage age, total pregnancy number (p<0.05). %50 of T.C. national mothers go to health control properly and %26.7 of foreign national mothers go to health control properly and it was seen that there was a meaningful relation (p<0.05). It was indicated that there was a significant difference (p<0.05) among the groups in terms of physical, psychological problems which was seen in the birth and education level about act of birth. This difference was originated from the informations which were taken from the internet, television and CD. Also, it was indicated that there was a significant difference in the datas which were belong to child of mothers in terms of starting mother's milk. Conclusion: According to the research, it was indicated that read and write proportion of mothers who are citizen of T.C. were 3 times more higher than mothers who are foreign national, going to health institution were higher among mothers who are citizen of T.C. and experience of bleeding problems of T.C. mothers were higher. It was determined that foreign national mothers were getting married earlier and their total pregnancy number were higher. It is suggested that more extensive studies should be done for adolescent mothers. Key Words: Adolescence, Pregnant, Newborn, Obstetric Results, Midwife
