Abstract (EN)
The Relationship Between Technology Addiction and Social Anxiety on Adolescent Girls Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between technology addiction and social anxiety in adolescent girls. Material and Method: The population of the study, which was conducted as a descriptive descriptive study, was 2052 female students from five high schools selected by lot method according to the number of students attending secondary schools in Mardin city center. The sample of the study was carried out with 635 female students by power analysis. The data of the study was obtained from face to face interviews with students between January 2019 and March 2019. Data were collected using the Descriptive Characteristics Form, Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents, and Technology Addiction Scale. In the analysis of the data; percentage distribution, mean, independent samples t test, variance analysis and correlation analysis were used. Results: The total score mean of technology addiction adolescent girls are 50.52 ± 20.47 and the total score mean of social anxiety is 41.98 ± 13.71. The level of technology addiction and social anxiety in adolescent girls were determined as medium level. It has been found that there is a positive relationship between technology addiction total score averages and social anxiety total score averages (p <.05). Conclusion: It has been determined that as the level of social anxiety increases, the level of technology dependence increases in adolescent girls. In secondary education institutions; It can be recommended to provide necessary trainings to reduce technology addiction and social anxiety and to develop methods of coping with social anxiety.
