Preperation of landslide susceptibilty map of Adrasan and Olimpos (Antalya) regions

Landslides occurring as a consequence of conurbation related to increasing population are - in addition to geological, topographical and climatic conditions - causing serious amounts of life and property loss worldwide. There are many studies in literature which are aimed to reduce damage caused by landslides and landslide inventory maps are centerpieces to aforementioned studies. Within this thesis study, main goal is to perform comparative landslide susceptibility mapping using logistic regression and frequency ratio methods to reduce landslide occurrance and damage in Antalya's Adrasan and Olimpos regions, and assessing performance of each method in context of our goal. To accomplish this purpose; first, landslide inventory map is created based on field observations. Later, 11 parameters related to landslide occurrance in region (slope, aspect, curvature, lithology, distance to roads, distance to the faults, sediment transport capacity index, stream power index, wetness index, distance to stream, elevation) are made use of to form a databse in CBT environment. Selected methods namely logistic regression and frequency ratio are used to create landslide susceptibility maps. ROC curve is used to assess performence of susceptibility maps created by both methods; according to AUC value under the curve, the susceptibility map acquired from FR method (0,846) performed slightly better than the susceptibility map acquired from LR method (0,827). As a result, the susceptibility maps acquired from any methods showed high performence and compatibility with the field observations, therefore either one of them is determined to be practicable in future studies.
