Abstract (EN)

In this master thesis, reaching irrigation water standard by treatment of pre-treated real textile wastewater by hybrid process and in presence of rice husk, was aimed. Hybrid process consists electrocoagulation, adsorption, advanced oxidation and microbial fuel cell processes. Electrocoagulation, adsorption, advanced oxidation and microbial fuel cell processes were applied to pre-treated real textile industry wastewater which is supplied by Sun Tekstil A.Ş. in İzmir. Rice husk based activated carbon and catalyst were prepared and used in adsorption, advanced oxidation processes as adsorbent and catalyst. In the advanced oxidation and microbial fuel cell steps, it was not obtained significant removal for total organic carbon value therefore further parametric studies was not studied. At the end of sequential electrocoagulation and adsorption processes, it was obtained maximum 91 % total organic carbon removal, 25 % chemical oxygen demand removal, 96 % turbidity removal. Total organic carbon, turbidity and color values were reached the irrigation water standard. At the end of sequential electrocoagulation and catalytic wet air oxidation processes, 62 % total organic carbon removal, around 37 % chemical oxygen demand removal and 93 % turbidity removal were obtained.
