Abstract (EN)

In this study, climatic characteristics of Adıyaman and its surroundings and impact on the local climate of dam lake has been demonstrated. With meterological data taken between the years of 1970 and 2010 from stations of Adıyaman and its surroundings, climate features are specified. Dams, does not affect climate of large areas compared to large lakes and seas, but slightly affects the climate of close envorinment. In this study, effects of Ataturk Dam Lake to climate of Adıyaman has been demonstrated. As opinion of community stated, study were aimed to reach findings that supports the "Dam lakes affects the climate of envorinment" view. Therefore, climatic characteristics of Adıyaman and stations around the dam lake have been introduced as for years before dam lake (1970-1990) and after dam lake (1991-2010). As a result of analyzes, some changes has been seen in meterological data between before and after the dam lake. Atatürk Dam Lake has caused an increase in winter temperatures and relative humidity despite the fact this changes does not represent significance. In order to determine the status of climate of Adıyaman in near future, meterological data of Adıyaman Station (temperature, humidity, precipitation) were analyzed with linear and quadratic trend analysis. According to applied trend analyzes, between 2010 and 2020, slight increase in temperature and humidity and reduction in precipitation are estimated in Adıyaman. Increase in temperature and humidity determined to be significant and reduction in precipitation is observed as insignificant. Keywords: Adıyaman, Effect of Dam Lake to Climate, Trend Analyzes.
