Perception of disaster training: A practise study for the purpose of measure to perception of disaster training which is given to primary school students

Abstract (EN)

The events that happen suddenly which are expressed as disaster, crisis and emergency which interrupt daily life, affect to human societies negatively. From past to present, against experiences these cases, in what way the subject of taking precautions utilized and is discussed with various points of view. In historical process, it is observed that the belief of any negative event caused by God to notice human is dominated among human. In general, the parts of the World which creatures can live carry on several risks. Climatic changes, wars, diseases sometimes force human societies to migrate or sometimes causes to vanish population completely. For this reason, by being conscious of situations which risks life, human societies have to take necessary precautions in order to survive.The research problem of this study can be expressed as to define how emergency training is percieved by Primary School students in Turkey. Disaster event affects society without distinguishing individuals, for that reason training public has primary importance. By considering this fact, main purpose of this study is expressed as:To detect different point of views of different members of society, to measures perception of Disaster Training which is given in Primary School and to detect the most suitable methods for these training given.Datas are picked by using two different models in this research. In the first model, a general survey is practiced. With this survey, the point of view of different branches of the society about disaster traing studies are determined. In the second model, a practice study is achieved. After determining different point of views of different parts of society about Disaster Training studies, Primary School students are chosen as a specific group. The reason to choose Primary School students is; the authorities which are releated with disaster studies accept that disaster awareness needed to teach from little ages and any specific study about this subject coincided before. The application for Primary School students, a training program?s content is given by appling different education methods. By the measurement study after given education, the optimal methods of education methods about disaster traing are determined.The reason of this study about this context is determines that demographic factors as age, genus, education degree and income degree affects to the point of view about disaster trainig significantly. The other factors affecting disaster training point of view are information technology skills and digital divide term. It is observed that the education given by using visual and audio devices are permanent at the result of this practice study. However, it is determined that it is not appropriate to apply only one education method for disaster training. It is established that the Disaster Training programmes shoud be diversified according to each individuals learning manner.
