Özet (EN)
Natural disasters cause severe damage to power distribution systems, leading to power outages, with devastating effects on the economy and society. In order for power distribution systems to become resilient against natural disasters, especially critical loads need to be restored. In this context, Microgrids, which are an important part of smart grids, can operate as local energy regions independent of the main grid thanks to their islanded operation capabilities and can provide uninterrupted energy supply to critical loads with these features. Accordingly, the formation of microgrids is possible by strategically plac ing distributed generation units (DGs) and optimizing local energy management. In this thesis, to evaluate the effects of DG placements on power flow, various DG placement scenarios were created on IEEE 5, IEEE 9 and IEEE 33-bus test systems and power flow analyses were performed within the scope of these scenarios. A mathematical model has been developed for the optimal placement and sizing of DGs and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) for microgrid formation to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical loads in case of a possible earthquake. The proposed model has been tested by applying it to an IEEE 33-bus distribution test system under different scenarios.
