Abstract (EN)
The attitudes of people regarding disaster preparations have not developed entirely despite the fact that various trainings, raising awareness activities or events have recently been conducted for purposes of minimizing the losses after disasters. This is closely related to the attitudes of people towards the disasters. The attitudes have spiritual, sensual and behavioral properties. No positive improvements could be tracked in the disaster preparation levels of individuals unless these three areas have been impacted properly. The objective of this study is to determine the individual variables impacting disaster preparation attitude and to examine the concept of "attitude of disaster preparation". To this end, the frameworks of the theoretical and conceptual methods that will be used in the study have primarily been designed. Following the literature scan regarding the topic, a question form involving 58 questions designed to collect data have been implemented in field. The first part of the question form involves the demographic properties of the participants while the second part involves disaster awareness and preparedness levels and finally the last section involves questions to test disaster preparation attitudes. The population of the study is formed by literate aged 18 to 65 residing in Isparta city center. The data obtained from the question form have been analyzed via SSPS 21 package software and via Ki-Kare, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests. In conclusion, it has been found that the individual variables impact disaster preparation attitude and that this, hence, impacts the level of disaster preparation.
