Evaluation of the psychological resilience of professionals intervention to disaster

This study aims to examine the psychological resilience of professionals working in disasters. Disasters are one of the greatest crises faced by societies, and such events lead not only to physical destruction but also to profound psychological effects. Professionals involved in disasters play critical roles both to help disaster victims and to alleviate the effects of the disaster, but they also face great stress and traumatic events. This may negatively affect their psychological resilience and task performance. The main purpose of the research is to determine the psychological resilience levels of professionals who took part in disasters in Bitlis and to examine the difficulties they encountered in this process. In addition, developing suggestions about training, support and coordination activities that can be done to increase the psychological resilience of these professionals is among the objectives of this study. The research aims to contribute to better preparation and support of professionals working in disasters and thus to make disaster response processes more effective and efficient. Within the scope of this study, in-depth interviews and focus group discussions were used as data collection methods. Research results emphasize that professionals involved in disasters face intense trauma and stress, develop various strategies to maintain their psychological resilience, and emphasize the importance of training, support and coordination. It has been determined that training and supervision programs to support the psychological resilience of professionals during pre- and post-disaster processes will increase the effectiveness of disaster response processes. In this context, supporting the psychological resilience of professionals involved in disasters is of vital importance in terms of both protecting their individual health and increasing the effectiveness of disaster interventions.
