The capacity to forgive: an object relations perspective

In the study which focuses on forgiveness, forgiveness capacity and forgiveness processes, first of all, the experiences that lead to the emergence of these structures and processes in personality are interpreted in the context of object relations theory. After the forgiveness and the terms related to this concept have been evaluated in terms of etymology, the areas where this concept is frequently used in daily life are examined in detail. Then, the perspectives of different religions regarding the concept of "amnesty" are examined. In this context, the relationship between the concepts of "tolerance" and "lenience" with " forgiveness" and "capability " are emphasized. Some of the ideas and opinions put forward by some scientists who have devoted a large part of their scientific careers to this subject that came to the forefront with these studies have been evaluated and some new suggestions are made for the solution of these ancient problems. In this context, the practice of Moral/Spiritual Counseling, which has a place in the scope of the rights of patients accepted in our country is mentioned. In the first part the conceptual framework, in the second part psychological approaches and processes and in the last part Gartner's groundbreaking ideas are given related with forgiveness.
