Abstract (EN)

Energy and exergy analys is were made of lignite fired A Thermal Power Plant located in Afşin-Elbistan region. Analysis made under 1 bar pressure and 25°C ambient conditions for 97% (330 MW) capacity. Knot joints were determined in the plant for calculations and thermodynamic properties of fluid of these nodes. The values at the nodes are the design values of the plant. Exergy losses were found by making calculations for the all equipments of the system and these losses showed with the table. The total exergy loss of the plant is 436.7 MW and the exergy loss of the boiler is 350.1 MW. In other words, 80,15% of the total exergy loss of the plant occurs in the boiler. The thermal efficiency of the power plant is calculated as 35.7% and the second law efficiency is calculated as 58.29%.
