Risk analysis and evaluation of a furniture production facility in Afyonkarahisar in terms of occupational health and safety

In this study, it is aimed to determine the dangers and risks in furniture production. For this purpose, field observations were made in a medium-sized enterprise that produces furniture in the Afyonkarahisar Organized Industrial Zone, photo shoots were made in the areas deemed necessary, and interviews were held with the employees and workplace officials. In the light of the information obtained, the workplace is divided into 16 sections in order to determine the potential risks of each activity carried out in the workplace. In the next stage, the existing hazards in the workplace and the risks associated with them were determined and a risk assessment study was carried out. The 3T Matrix Risk Assessment Method (3T MRDM), which is also recommended by the General Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety (İSGGM) due to its proactive approach as a principle, has been applied among the risk assessment methods. As a result of the study, in the relevant workplace, 299 of which are from the basic modules; A total of 763 hazards have been identified. However, the Module Security Index (MGE) of the workplace increased by 71.56%. Accordingly, the 3T MRDM, especially in the furniture sector; It is suggested that it can be beneficial to use in all branches of industry.
