Investigating/making a study about frequency of getting injuried and causes at the sportsmen at the amateur sporting clubs in Afyonkarahisar

The aim of this study is to investigate about frequency of getting injured and causes at sportsmen at the super amateur and first division soccer teams in Afyonkarahisar. By this way identification and description of injury prevalence, type of injury, possible causal factors, mechanisms of injuries could be better comprehended. In this study survey tecnique is used. There are 10 teams (125 players) from super amateur male soccer clubs, 10 teams (125 players) from first division male soccer teams and totaly 250 soccer players took part in this survey. This survey had some kinds of questions which includes demographic characteristics and position areas of soccer players, their divisions, playing surface, types and locations of injuries and the occurence of injury during in which activitiy. The findings that were obtained from this study were evaluated through EXCEL and SPSS 13,0 programme.ki kare test is carried out to be analysed of the dataThrough the evaluation of the tests, the ages of soccer players in amateur sports clubs mean 23,97. %58,6 of players couldn?t participate at least one competition due to injury. The most body parts prone to injuries are foot and ankle (% 31,2), lower extermities (%17,6), knee (%15,1); the most common types of injury are sprains (%29,0), muscle strains (%22,1), contusion/bruise (%14,1). The proportion of injuries which takes place during the match (%72,4) is higher than during the training (%12,4) or unoffical competition (%15,2). If the injuries are classified according to their range, moderate ones are seen mostly (%45,1) and followed by minor (%38,0) and serious injuries (%16,9Furthermore, in this study the years in which players play football are approximately (10,3) with the standard deviation as (5,012). The study revealed that the experienced players (7-15 years) are more prone to injuries than the unexperienced ones (%39,6). In addition to this, most injuries happened at the second session (%59,6). The playing surfaces causing injuries are respectively artificial turf (%50,8) and dirt surface (%38,8). The factors which have an effect on the injuries of players are unsufficient training (%21,2), unsufficient practice (%20,4), the type of playing ground (%16,8) and playing surface (%15,4).
