Abstract (EN)

In this study, the technical and economic performance of dairy cattle enterprises were examined that is established within the scope of IPARD in Afyonkarahisar Province. The material of the research is the investment project data of 11 enterprises established between 2014-2018 years and the results of 1-year breeding period (between 2019-2020 years). Enterprises are categorised as Group I (48-80 heads) and Group II (120 heads) according to their project dairy cow capacity. Herd management, lactation yields and procurement of feed resources of the enterprises were examined in the evaluation of technical performance. Cost, income, factor productivity and profitability levels are analyzed in the measurement of economic performance. All enterprises meet the animal material required for herd renewal from within the enterprise. In the period examined, the average number of cows of the enterprises was 79,64 heads and the average herd stock was 143,82 heads. The lactation yield per cow milked was 6 062,86 Kg in the Group I, 6 775,00 Kg in the Group II, and 6 321,82 Kg in all the enterprises. As roughage; it was determined that alfalfa, maize silage and hay were used. There are 6 enterprises that produce all and most of the maize silage itself. The number of enterprises producing alfalfa and hay is less (3-4 enterprises). A total of 3 enterprises are purchased all the roughage from outside the enterprise. The share of IPARD support in active capital is calculated as 28,61% in Group I, 22,57% in Group II and 26,41% in all enterprises. The rate of feed in total costs for the Group I, Group II and all enterprises respectively; 58,20%; 66,58% and 62,93% were determined. The share of milk that takes the first place in the gross production value in the Group I, Group II and all enterprises respectively; 67,62%; 71,69% and 70,25% were detected. In all enterprises, 0,04 TL net income for 1 TL expense, 0,09 TL negative net income in the Group I and 0,26 TL net income in the Group II were obtained. In the period analyzed, it was observed that only the financial (10,01%) and economic (8,56%) profitability values of the Group II enterprises were higher than the market real interest rate (7,53%). As a result, the Group II enterprises where the unit milk cost (1,78 TL/Kg) is lower, the unit milk income (2,62 TL/Kg) is higher, the active capital gain is above the real interest rate of the market, both technically and economically has been found successful.
