Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the prosthetic and biological complications, as well as the satisfaction levels of patients rehabilitated with implant-supported full-arch fixed prostheses in the maxilla and mandible. Materials and Methods: In this study, 29 volunteer patients aged between 35 and 69 years who had been rehabilitated with implant-supported full-arch fixed prostheses in the maxilla and mandible, and whose follow-up period ranged from a minimum of 13 months to a maximum of 76 months after prosthetic loading, were identified through the clinical database and included in the study. All participants were thoroughly informed about the study protocol, and written informed consent was obtained from each participant. Demographic parameters (age, gender, education level), implant- and restoration-related characteristics, as well as prosthetic and biological complications, were examined. The relationships between complications and abutment type, occlusal scheme, presence of cantilever, and the number of restorations were evaluated. Patient satisfaction was assessed using the OHIP-14 questionnaire scores. Results: The most common biological complication observed among the participants was peri-implant mucositis (89.7%), while the most frequent prosthetic complication was chipping (41.4%). The rate of decementation was 24.1% in the maxilla and 27.6% in the mandible, whereas screw loosening occurred in 6.9% of maxillary and 3.4% of mandibular restorations. No cases of prosthesis fracture, implant fracture, or screw fracture were detected. A positive and moderately significant correlation was found between education level and the OHIP-14 subscales of functional limitation, social disability, and handicap. In addition, statistically significant relationships were observed between the type of occlusion and abutment type and retention loss (decementation/screw loosening). Conclusion: In the implant-supported fixed prosthetic rehabilitation of completely edentulous patients, it is considered that the patient's level of education, the type of abutment used, and the established occlusal scheme are critical factors influencing patient satisfaction and mechanical success.
