Abstract (EN)
Continuously influence of radiation is a widely known truth in our daily life. Radiation is divided into two groups: Natural and Artificial. Approximately 50% of natural radiation in our environment that we are constantly under the influence of is composed of products of Radon which is invisible and unrecognized by the senses, colorless, tasteless, odorless gas. Water is one of the most important needs for people to survive. Underground water resources are more radioactive minerals. Radioactive elements belonging to the series of uranium dissolved in water are consisted of 223Ra 226Ra and 222Rn which are risky for our health. The need of water for living-beings is supplied by surface water resources and underground water resources. These radioactive elements in the periodic monitoring of changes in activities are of great importance.Available in two key areas examined in the periodic changes of Radon gas. The first of these is obtained from the Radon gas activity in terms of limit values set by international organizations to assess and Radon gas activities are examined in terms of health. Another use is in the field to investigate the relationship between Radon gas changes and seismic activities.The purpose of this study is to examine the seasonal changes in activities of Radon and radium at thermal resources in Afyonkarahisar area. For this purpose, water samples taken form 5 different thermal resources at the times of between May 14, 2010 and December 4, 2010 were analyzed at Afyon Kocatepe University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department of Physics, Nuclear Physics Lab. The results of the analysis are: Maximum Radon activity 8,997 Bg/L, minimum Radon activity 0,029 Bg/L Maximum Radium activities 0,532 Bg/L, minimum Radium activity 0,018 Bg/L. Looking at the average Radon activity in the Radon source is number 4 with the highest activity, the average activity of 2.714 Bq / L, respectively.In addition, the results obtained from the seismic movements in the region together with international health limits, and evaluated.
