Abstract (EN)

Forests have become the most important part of the natural environment where people have lived together since the day of their existence. People have always intended to benefit from trees. The necessity of exploring the use of the products obtained from the trees in all areas of life has been revealed. In this study, it was aimed to determine what the importance of the matter should be in order for Kastamonu to be one of the main centers of the wood products industry, as well as the current situation. All of the stakeholders in Kastamonu province center are universe and interviewed among them. As a methodology, data collection and interviewing techniques were used in this study. In this context, SWOT analysis was conducted to determine the strengths and weaknesses of Kastamonu in order to be an important place in terms of wood products and opportunities and threats were determined. In addition, it was aimed to determine the opinions and proposals of the stakeholders of the enterprises in Kastamonu province center on what can be done for the development of the wood products sector. Within the scope of the study, twelve enterprises operating in the wood products sector were interviewed. The general idea of research findings is that Kastamonu province has sufficient raw material potential in terms of tree and forest assets but it does not develop because of lack of infrastructure, advertising, promotion and material incentives. The coverage of all provincial coverage of research results is limited. In subsequent investigations, it would be appropriate to discuss with businesses in the wood products sector in other counties in order to be able to carry out a survey covering the entire province.
