Definitions of music culture of the Agin region and music practices in traditional ceremonies

One of the most important aspects which generates and holds together the society is culture; and music is the most significant element which forms the culture. In addition, the traditional ceremonies included in the music culture are one of the striking determinents of culture.From this point of view, it can be said that music and traditional ceremonies are among the most important practitioners of culture in terms of both the transfer of knowledge to future generations and its practice. In this research, Ağın region, which has a rich structure with its traditional ceremonies, has been tried to be examined in depth, based on its cultural texture, music practices, socio-cultural characteristics and geographical structure. The research has a descriptive feature and focuses on determining the current situation in terms of music practices (practices) in the region, based on traditional ceremonies in the region.It can be said that the research was mainly carried out with a qualitative design. Quantitative data sources deemed necessary to determine the current situation were also utilized. The universe of the research is our music culture and music practices in traditional ceremonies, and the sample is music practices in music culture and traditional ceremonies of Ağın region. Some of the results obtained as a result of research if it is to be sorted; The music of Ağın region has a unique character structure, the instruments used in the region are classical in structure such as the clarinet and violin, the melodies used have maqam scales and maqam characteristics such as Hüseyni, Uşşak, Segâh, and the tempos are 9/8, 12/8, 6/8, 4/4, 2/4 etc., unlike the surrounding regions.
