Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the suitable forage pea (Pisum sativum ssp. arvense L.) varieties (Özkaynak, Taşkent, Kirazlı and Ürünlü) and planting times (1.sowing date; 5 April, 2.sowing date; 21 April ve 3.sowing date; 6 May) in terms of herbage and seed performances in Ağrı-Eleşkirt conditions. The experiment was established according to split plot experimental design on completely randomized blocks with three replicates under irrigated conditions in 2018. Within the scope of the research, beginning of flowering (days), plant height (cm), number of branches per plant (number), stem thickness (mm), fresh hay yield (kg da-1), dry hay yield (kg da-1), dry matter ratio (%), crude protein (%), NDF (%) and ADF (%) ratio for hay production, and number of ripening days, degree of lying, number of pods per plant (number), number of seeds per pod (number) , seed yield (kg da-1), stem yield (kg da-1), biological yield (kg da-1), thousand grain weight (g), harvest index (%) and crude protein ratio (%) for seed production were examined. As a result of the statistical analysis, the effect of planting time (except for the dry matter ratio, number of seeds per pod and crude protein ratio in seed) and varieties (except for the plant height, number of branches per plant, degree of lying, NDF and ADF ratio) on the parameters examined was found to be significant. According to these results, Taşkent and Ürünlü were determined as the varieties with high herbage yield, but Özkaynak and Ürünlü varieties with high feed quality. For seed production, Kirazlı had the highest yield. When evaluated in terms of sowing times, the most suitable sowing times for herbage and seed productions were determined as the first week of April and the last week of April, respectively. As a result, in the conditions of Eleşkirt District of Ağrı Province, Ürünlü and Taşkent for roughage production and Kirazlı variety in terms of seed production are considered promising.
