Abstract (EN)

In this study; the types, aims, functions, of the recoil mechanisms of the heavy weapons and factors which are effecting recoil mechanism design are studied with literature search and for a hydropneumatic type recoil system?s equation of motion is derived.Breech force which is used to solve equation of motion for recoil mechanism is calculated from Le-Duc equations with a MATLAB code and breech force vs. time graph is drawn from MATLAB calculations. Also, dependence of recoil length on changing total recoiling mass and orifice discharge coefficient is studied using program code in MATLAB-SIMULINK. Simulation results and firing test results for the 120 mm heavy weapon system is compared to verify the used model.
