Özet (EN)

Purpose: The study aims to identify the consistency between the nurses for the evaluation of oral health, the compliance between the nurses as well as the compliance between nurses and researcher nurses for the evaluation of the criteria in addition to the compliance between subjective criteria and objective criteria. Materials and Method: The study is conducted between the dates of 20.09.2019 and 25.02.2020 with the associative description model. The target population of the study consists of in-patients admitted to the clinic with diabetes, chronic renal failure, and 95 nurses employed in the clinic, whereas its sample consists of 10 nurses and 86 patients identified with G-Power analysis. The data is collected through the usage of "Oral Assessment Guide, Unstimulated Salivary Flow Rate, Plaque Index and Data Collection Forms". The data is evaluated with subsidiary and associative analysis conducted on Statistical Package or Social Sciences 25.00 program. Approval of the board of ethics and institutional permission are received for the study. Findings: 50% of the patients and 70% of the nurses are females, the median age of the patients is 61.35±12.39 years whereas the median age of the nurses is 36.10±7.20 years and 90% of them have Bachelor's degrees. Cronbach alpha coefficient results are between 0.773 and 0.864 in order to ensure the consistency between the nurses for oral evaluation. During the evaluation of oral criteria, it has been identified that the consistency between the nurses is at its most for noise and swallowing criteria and is at its least for mucous membrane, teeth/ prosthesis criteria. The consistency between the researches and other nurses is between mid to low levels, consistency is at its most for swallowing and noise criteria and it is at its least for saliva and teeth/prosthesis criteria. Difference between the plaque index and teeth, salivary flow rate as well as saliva evaluation is statistically significant. Conclusion: The consistency levels between the nurses in regards to the evaluation of oral health criteria is at its most for swallowing and noise criteria as well as being at mid-levels. As the salivary flow rate decreases, the compliance between the salivary and dental criteria evaluation stated in the guide, also decreases. Keywords: Assessment, Nursing, Oral Health.
