Sunnah (Hadith) is one of the most important elements affected on the formation of our religious understanding. Especially, the Hadiths with a pious and ascetic content play very significant role in determining our world view. Majority of the narratives related to piety can be found in the piety chapters of the Hadith Literature. To know this literature is very crucial for the understanding of piety Hadiths. Moreover, it is known very well that the sources of many current problems derive from this kind of Hadiths. Therefore, determining the authenticity of this kind of Hadiths will make a very valuable contribution to the solution of many problems. It is also no doubt that determining the understanding of piety from the Hadiths will pay the way for the right understanding of religion and for our work life. Therefore, this Thesis can be considered as a first step in this direction.In this work, The Ascetic Sources in the Hadith Literature and the Survey of Tradition Related with Ascetism according to Kitâbu?z-Zohd written by Ahmad b. Hanbal.Our aim is examine objectly approache in according to reason, science prenciple and hadith?s method.
