Ahmad al - Khaznawi (d. 1949) and Khaznawiyya

This study, employing some published works in addition to, certain unpublished manuscrips and living individuals, deals with Sheikh Ahmad al-Khaznawi, founder of the Khaznawiyya branch of the Nakshbandi order, and his sufi way. Seykh Ahmad al-Khaznawi, also well-known as Shah Khazne, seems to have received an excellent classical training, then got interested in Sufism, hence took a long trip to his spiritual guide Muhammed Diyauddin Norsini. After completing the sufi education, his master gave authority to him and sent to his city for guidance. After a while, in the process of what his effect become spreading, a branch within the Nakshbandiyya occurred and affiliated to him. When he died, his successors, took over the task, worked to spread this way. As a result of these efforts, Khaznawiyye branch has become known all over the world and too many people have begun interested in it. In this thesis, we focus on the development of Khaznawiyye way which had been established by him, and its condition up until now, its method and basic principles.
