The annotation of premier fifty odes (gazel) in the Divan of Ahmed-i Dâ'i (28-77)

The poets educated in Germiyan district had a great importance at the establishment of Divan Literature. Ahmedi, Ahmed-i Dâ?i and Seyhi who were the greatest poets of XIV. and XV. centuries got their education in this region. Ahmed-i Dâ?i was one of the first poets and founders of the Divan Literature lived in between the second part of the XIV. century and the first quarter of XV. century. Unfortunately, because of not having enough information about him in the history sources, he has not been well known. He, was of Kütahya, was educated in Germiyan where the centre of the great culture in those years. Being seen as a bridge between Ahmed-i and Seyhi the Poet gave the first samples of -rankari poetry and he was like a herald of Bakis and Nedims with his art for the people who would come after him. My study was performed on the premier fifty odes (gazel) in the Divan of Ahmed-i Dâ?i who was one of the founder of Divan Literature but he has not been merited enough and has not been well known in our literature. The work that I have made use of in my study was whole edition - text, grammar and facsimile - of the Divan which was found by Tunca Kortantamer in Egypt National Library. The work prepared as a doctorate study by Mehmet Özmen in 1985 was published in the name of Ahmed-i Dâ?i Divanı by Turkish Language Committee, in 2001. In my study, I have followed by direction of Prof. Ali Alparslan, Mehmet Amaç?s higher education treatise called ?The Annotate of 50 Odes in Zati?s Divan?; ?The Annotate of Fuzuli?s Divan? of Prof. Ali Nihat Tarlan, and the study which is about ?The Lives, Arts, and Works of Fuzuli, Baki, Nef?i and Seyh Galip? prepared by Prof Haluk -pekten. By dealing with the works those include the examples of annotation and put them into prose I have pursued these works? style. Besides this, Ahmet Talat Onay?s ?Mazmunlar in Old Turkish Literature? and of -skender Pala?s Work named ?The Dictionary of Divan Poem Encyclopaedia? are the sources that I have profited much. This study is about the first fifty odes existing in the Divan of Ahmed-i Dâ?i. The poems in divan were numbered after eulogy (kaside) because of this reason my study contains the poems between the numbers 28 and 77. In my treatise, firstly the information about Life of Ahmed-i Dâ?i, His Art, and His Works have been submitted. After this introductory, the annotation of odes which is the topic of my treatise has been started. In the last section, the facsimile edition of Ahmed-i Dâ?i?s Divan from Cairo has been added. Before the odes being put into the prose, the unknown words? meanings have been looked up and the information about Mazmun was gathered and later this information has been used in annotation. Not only whole literary arts have been interested in the couplet but only some of them have been explained which are the most attractive. During my study, I owe many thanks to Asist.
